It is geared to those aspiring to pursue advanced education in biomedical research (i.e., a Ph.D. degree). The program requires a two-year commitment. Ohio STATE is Seeking an MS student (Food Science) to begin Summer/Fall 2025 at Ohio State University This project is part of a USDA NIFA Higher Education Challenge Grant titled "Development of a diverse and competent food safety compliance workforce to enhance trust in a secure food system" in collaboration with NC State University and Tuskegee University. Specifically, the MS student will likely focus on a project assessing student perceptions of careers in auditing, inspection, and assessment and/or evaluate programmatic data from stakeholders using the newly developed curriculum and resources. Project topic is flexible but will focus on some aspect of food safety auditing, inspection, and assessment. Ideally, a student would begin integrating themselves into the project/grant asap. The Redox Biology Center is pleased to invite applications for the 2025 Summer Graduate Course on Redox Regulation, Oxidative Stress and Selenoproteins. The course is scheduled from June 9-13, 2025, and will be held at the Debrecen, Hungary. The course involves lectures covering a broad range of topics in redox biology, student presentations, a compulsory poster session, and a final written exam. The course is pass/fail and provides 1 graduate level credit. The People's City Mission feeds hundreds of people each day and even more during the holiday season. In the spirit of giving, I would like to invite you to help serve a meal as a department. This Saturday, Dec. 14th from 4:30-7 at the People's City Mission on 110 Q Street. Your family members can help serve, also! We need about ten people to fill all of the roles this day. If you would to help serve please sign up using both links below. The first is to create an account if you don't already have one. The second is to join our FDST group for the meal service that day. Please make sure to sign in and sign out when you leave. * For safety reasons, volunteers must wear close-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves (t-shirt or long sleeve), and long pants, or shorts that are to the knees. * Staff will get you back to the kitchen, where they will have you wash your hands, and put on a hairnet and apron.
