Happy Thursday, NHOC 2025 poster presenters!
You are receiving this email because your submission was accepted for a poster presentation at NHOC 2025<https://food.unl.edu/national-health-outreach-engagement-conference-2025/ >. Please keep in mind I am only ever communicating with the main point of contact listed on the submission, so remember to forward pertinent information to all co-presenters.
Reminder/Update | All poster-related activities are scheduled for Wednesday, April 30th:
* 7:00am – 8:00am Poster Set-Up
* Informal viewing throughout the day for all attendees
* 3:00pm – 4:30pm Formal Poster Session (this may shift slightly to 2:30pm – 4:00pm; you will be informed ASAP if it does)
* 4:30pm – 5:00pm Poster Tear-Down (if the above time shifts, so will this)
Poster Specifications: Easels, 30”x40” or 40”x30” foam backing boards, and pins will be provided onsite. *The backing boards and pins are being provided to ensure those traveling by air can easily transport a rolled or folded poster printed to a size that compliments the size of our backing boards (if your poster is slightly larger, that will be fine; you will just need to be ok with a bit of overhang when it is pinned). The orientation of your poster (vertical or horizontal) is entirely up to you. 😊
Thank you to all for reviewing your titles/objectives to align with federal expectations. We will incorporate the changes that were communicated to me.
If you have questions at any point along the way, email me at tara.dunker(a)unl.edu<mailto:tara.dunker@unl.edu> and we’ll figure it out together.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
Thanks,
Tara

Hello poster presenters for NHOC 2025<https://food.unl.edu/national-health-outreach-engagement-conference-2025/>!
As promised, here is our official guidance for any rewording you may want to consider for our final proceedings that will appear online:
The National Health Outreach & Engagement Conference is committed to exploring innovative approaches to health promotion through collaboration and partnership. We strive to serve every person with equal dignity and respect so that all people can be as healthy as they can be. As you finalize your session title(s) and objectives, which will appear in our final proceedings posted publicly online, it may be helpful to be mindful of the terminology selected so as to comply with the White House executive order of January 20, 2025<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions… >. This is because many of your fellow presenters, and those attending to learn from you, rely on federal funding-in whole or in part-to do this important work.
Alternative phrasing that would be suitable (not an exhaustive list):
* Variety of perspectives or broad representation
* Access for all or opportunity expansion
* Engagement for all or welcoming environment
* Community well-being or fairness initiatives
* Unconscious perceptions or decision-making awareness
1. Please review your poster title(s) from your original submission(s). If you feel rewording is needed, reach out to me.
2. Please review your objectives from your original submission(s). If you feel rewording is needed, do so and email the rewording to me.
3. If I do not hear from you and you do not hear from me further on this matter, we will both know your title(s) and objectives are suitable as currently written, and you will see them added to the agenda/proceedings online.
I realize this guidance is likely still somewhat unclear, so email me with questions. And thank you for understanding that I am living all this in real time right along with you.
Thanks,
Tara
