Description (Please provide information about this opportunity such as practice details, numbe of veterinarians in the practice, position duties, what your community is like, etc.)
We are a two clinic (Pender and Emerson NE) practice in northeast Nebraska (35 minutes from Sioux City, IA and 80 minutes from Omaha, NE). The position is for an associate mixed animal veterinarian with an emphasis on Bovine medicine. We are in a bovine focused area with feedlot and cow-calf production and also provide many medical services for area rural communities' pets.
Standard large animal work involves obstetric work, palpation, herd health work ups and vaccinations, feedlot consulting (we work with about 15 feedyards from 600 to 25,000 in size), bull testing, bovine exams/surgeries, small ruminant exams and obstetrics, and equine health and dental work up. Small animal involves standard primary care services (vac, spay, neuters, and examinations/internal medicine), and some advanced procedures like foreign bodies, GDV's, and tumor excisions.
We have up to date working facilities and equipment with new load out facilities, new ultrasound equipment, digital x ray, new equine dental machine/equipment, and new Idexx bloodwork equipment. Weekend calls are rotated, so the prospective veterinarian would be on call every 5th weekend. We offer very competitive pay, health, dental, 401 k, paid CE, PTO, and paid holidays. We firmly believe in enjoying what we do, and try to make sure everyone can find time off for themselves, family, hobbies, or whatever else. We have a great staff and veterinarians offering experience ranging from 2 years to 45 years.
Lastly, we are offering paid internships and free housing for prospective students. We ensure that students will receive as much hands on experience as possible, multiple veterinarian's insight and discussion, help with client interaction and discussion, and also will show the business side of a rural practice. If anyone you know has interest in this please have them reach out to me.
If this position is a preceptorship, internship or externship, is housing available?
