We are in the process of updating the Big Ten Engagement listserv so you may be getting a couple of extra emails and calendar invites for a bit. It will give you the opportunity to use your delete key liberally!

Here are updates from our last meeting:

· You saw the message from Keith Marshall around taking on the Carnegie Elective Classification. Based on your responses, the timing isn’t right to do something collectively. We’ll see who applies.

· Our F2F meeting is confirmed for December 10-11 and the Big Ten Conference Center. Their remodeling is on hold so great for us! We’ve started to develop the agenda; keep the ideas coming!

· As to ideas….here’s what we discussed (some of these are follow-up from the June meeting): • Engagement Advisory Boards o Pros/Cons o Structures/Models • Engaged Research • Expanded Partnerships with BTAA • Advancement and Fund Raising (on-going topic) • Future of Designations o AAU o Carnegie o Others • Data Mining • Engagement Awards (will be at F2F, led by Burton Bargerstock, Michigan State & Nicole Nieto, Ohio State

Our next meeting is Friday, September 5 at 12:00 CT. I will be cancelling our old calendar invite and re-sending as we now have an updated membership list (attached).
