Hello poster presenters for NHOC 2025https://food.unl.edu/national-health-outreach-engagement-conference-2025/!
As promised, here is our official guidance for any rewording you may want to consider for our final proceedings that will appear online:
The National Health Outreach & Engagement Conference is committed to exploring innovative approaches to health promotion through collaboration and partnership. We strive to serve every person with equal dignity and respect so that all people can be as healthy as they can be. As you finalize your session title(s) and objectives, which will appear in our final proceedings posted publicly online, it may be helpful to be mindful of the terminology selected so as to comply with the White House executive order of January 20, 2025<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/... >. This is because many of your fellow presenters, and those attending to learn from you, rely on federal funding-in whole or in part-to do this important work.
Alternative phrasing that would be suitable (not an exhaustive list):
* Variety of perspectives or broad representation
* Access for all or opportunity expansion
* Engagement for all or welcoming environment
* Community well-being or fairness initiatives
* Unconscious perceptions or decision-making awareness
1. Please review your poster title(s) from your original submission(s). If you feel rewording is needed, reach out to me. 2. Please review your objectives from your original submission(s). If you feel rewording is needed, do so and email the rewording to me. 3. If I do not hear from you and you do not hear from me further on this matter, we will both know your title(s) and objectives are suitable as currently written, and you will see them added to the agenda/proceedings online.
I realize this guidance is likely still somewhat unclear, so email me with questions. And thank you for understanding that I am living all this in real time right along with you. Thanks, Tara
