Hey guys-
Please see the attached information about this years AABP Conference! This year it will be in Omaha!!!!
Please consider going as it is a great opportunity to network and learn more about bovine medicine. Unfortunately the hotel coverage opportunity might not be available to UNL students due to us not being paid members at ISU, but this might change depending on interest and costs. I will keep everyone posted on if that changes.
However, we are allowed to partake in the quiz bowl team so if you are feeling a little knowledgable sign up and give it a try! Please let me know you have any questions and I will try to get them answered or put you in touch with some on that can answer them!

Happy Saturday, AABP!
I hope you all have enjoyed the first month of summer! Please bear with me as this is an extremely long email, but it's full of a lot of important information. For those that do not know, the 58th Annual AABP Conference "Focus on Value" will be held September 11-13th, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska!
What is it? A bovine-focused conference providing great networking opportunities (future jobs, externships, or just getting to know other veterinary colleagues) as well as spending time with other veterinary students interested in bovine medicine from schools all over the United States and Canada. Over the years, many ISU students have attended and enjoyed this opportunity.
What will it look like? The days consist of different informational sessions on beef, dairy, clinical skills, practice management, research summaries, student case presentations, clinical forums, and small ruminants. Most meals will be provided, and students can attend evening social activities. We will also be putting together a few quiz bowl teams. If you are interested in being on a team, please fill out this form.https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc05SvNgneZY96lqrM7pUDPTSzztEbsCY5z1g-Mc1Q5tLJzRw/viewform?usp=header__;!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!AF0qpwwRtHpfqhyeinGZjKqPVcN7Quu2jsHInFxa9zUcf7PiI5NpLfGgJOBSqnuAP87gGqm5eUa9rZsfKRMXDlgeXw$ The quiz bowl will take place Friday morning, September 12th.

In addition, use this linkhttps://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/aabp.org/meeting/preconference.asp__;!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!AF0qpwwRtHpfqhyeinGZjKqPVcN7Quu2jsHInFxa9zUcf7PiI5NpLfGgJOBSqnuAP87gGqm5eUa9rZsfKRP15Z_vBw$ to see the Pre-Conference Seminars offered at this year's conference.
Travel and Lodging: Each individual will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements, however, coordinating and carpooling with other ISU students is encouraged. Once we have a head count of those attending, I will send out an email for everyone to stay in the loop. Our club will block off enough rooms for everyone at the same hotel (as long as we have a count of who will definitely be attending). ALL STUDENTS WHO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE MUST STAY IN ONE OF THE AABP HOTELS.
Similar to last year, the exec team has decided to fund a portion of students' hotel rooms, however, the exact percentage is yet to be determined and will be based on the number of members that apply. In order to receive this funding, the exec team is requesting an application. The application will consist of a paragraph on why you want to attend the AABP Annual Conference and how you think that your attendance will benefit you both academically and professionally (minimum 250 words). The selection process will be anonymous. Our team wants to be respectful of the use of our club's funds and provide members with opportunities to receive club funding in the future.
If interested, please complete the three tasks below:
1. Become a national AABP student member (or renew your membership). Membership costs have recently changed and are now $35 for 6 months. National AABP Membership is required in order for you to register and attend the conference. Dues can be paid with this link.https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/aabp.org/dues/__;!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!AF0qpwwRtHpfqhyeinGZjKqPVcN7Quu2jsHInFxa9zUcf7PiI5NpLfGgJOBSqnuAP87gGqm5eUa9rZsfKRMPU8no8Q$ Note: being a national AABP member is separate from being a member of our ISU AABP Student Chapter.
2. Register for the Conference. Conference registration is open! Student AABP members receive complimentary in-person attendance if registered before pre-registration closes (August 1st, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. EST). There is no on-site registration for students, so you must pre- register. After the close date, registration is $75. Students can also select to attend a pre-conference seminar and/or a clinical forum for a fee when they register. However, there are limited seats for students, so do not select a seminar unless you plan to attend. Registration for the conference can be completed at this link. https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/aabp.org/meeting/__;!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!AF0qpwwRtHpfqhyeinGZjKqPVcN7Quu2jsHInFxa9zUcf7PiI5NpLfGgJOBSqnuAP87gGqm5eUa9rZsfKRP3zxsrUQ$
3. Complete the Funding Application Form. Once you HAVE COMPLETED your registration to attend the conference please fill out this formhttps://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXfjbNO67V6slrhmbTaHvET_iV0p6Fc8ABrsQW00sCPcBpvg/viewform?usp=header__;!!PvXuogZ4sRB2p-tU!AF0qpwwRtHpfqhyeinGZjKqPVcN7Quu2jsHInFxa9zUcf7PiI5NpLfGgJOBSqnuAP87gGqm5eUa9rZsfKRNaRahODg$ so I can have an accurate headcount for reservations. Funding applications will be due to me on Friday July 18th at 5:00 p.m.
I apologize again for the lengthy email. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you may have! Have a great rest of your summer!

From Breanna Gill: "If VM1s are interested in attending, please make sure to fill out the Funding Application Form mentioned in the email from Alex Webster. The ISU AABP club would like a rough head count of how many UNL students would like to attend so maybe they can get funding for hotels."
