Colleagues – Something different for this week’s seminar …
Our FDST 951 – Advanced Food Science and Technology Seminar will be joining Elle Covington from UNL Libraries as she presents “Searching Comprehensively” and leads a discussion on how to strengthen your search skills with comprehensive search techniques informed by systematic review methodology.
Here’s her virtual workshop description: This will be a highly interactive workshop, so bring your projects in progress. We will discuss strategies for creating a more robust search within the electronic databases with techniques like index searching, test searches, and term scoping. We will discuss supplementary search strategies like citation chasing and when Google Scholar can be most helpful to you. As interest dictates, we will additionally cover where and how to search for grey literature.
You do not need to register for the workshop. Just come and join us on Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 – 12:50 pm in Room 277, Food Innovation Center.
Whether you're a student, researcher, or just curious about tools for systematically reviewing the literature or conducting systematic content analyses, this is a great opportunity to learn and connect.
