Good afternoon,
Nebraska Nova just let me know there is very little water in the RO tanks so we will need wait until morning for them to fill up. Then equipment that needs RO, such as the autoclaves, will be operational again.
Thanks,
Jayne Stratton

“Solid Lipid Particles for Improved Food Quality and Assessment of Their Performance”
Purlen Sezer Okur is a PhD candidate advised by Dr. Ozan N. Ciftci. She received her BS and MS in Food Engineering from Turkiye. Her PhD work focuses on the green processing of lipids to produce natural food ingredients using supercritical carbon dioxide, which serve as bioactive carriers or shortening alternatives in food products.

Good morning!
Many of us will be migrating this week (fun!), if you haven't already... Joe was nice enough to send me some tips based on their experience with the migration process. See below for his advice.
I think that the e-mail he refers to will be sent to us the day of the migration. So, the bottom line, read and follow the instructions of that e-mail to ensure a smooth migration.
I believe IT will be in the building all week so they can help us with questions and troubleshooting....
Good luck to all of you (us) with the process!
Silvana

Subject: Microsoft migration links
Hi Silvana,
The side discussion during the P&T session on the Microsoft migration stimulated a couple of thoughts/experiences that I think may be helpful as the Department migrates next week.
Each individual that will be migrating next week should have received an email already with instructions for the day of and day after the migration. I highly recommend that the instructions are copied/printed or the email is sent to a private account. Once the migration starts, users will not be able to access their unl.edu Outlook account.
One of the critical first steps for the day after the migration will be to log out of or unlink their previous Microsoft accounts (i.e the unl.edu accounts).
The migration team provided a link in their instructions that is easily missed so I wanted to bring these links to everyone's attention. Hopefully following these steps upfront will make the setup the day after the transition a little more seamless.

“Database Development for Glycan Utilization and Anti-Prokaryotic Defense in Microbiomes”
Yuchen Yan is a PhD student in food science and technology with a specialization in bioinformatics. Her research combines large-scale microbial genomics and computational approaches to investigate how microbiomes contribute to human health. Her dissertation focuses on the development of two functional genomic databases: one for glycan utilization in the human gut microbiome and another for anti-prokaryotic immune systems in phages. Through functional annotation and profiling of key genomic features, her work provides foundational resources for understanding microbiome-mediated glycan metabolism and phage-host immune interactions.

Afternoon,
As an FYI-
The people from the Husker Food Pantry came to pick up food items and have moved the bin down to the 1st floor commons area.
